Common Axiom Issues and How to Fix Them

Failed transactions are the most common complaint on Axiom, and slippage is almost always the reason. Axiom lets you set slippage per trade, and the right number depends on what you're trading: roughly 1–3% for liquid, established tokens, 2–5% for more volatile names, and 10–20% or higher for brand-new memecoins still on the bonding curve. Limit orders are also capped at a fixed number of active orders per account. That cap isn't documented anywhere in the app itself, so if a new order won't place, cancel an old one first. Perps deposits and withdrawals route through Hyperliquid's Arbitrum bridge, which is outside Axiom's control; it has auto-locked funds for roughly 25 minutes during past congestion, so if a withdrawal looks stuck, wait before assuming the money is gone. The August 2025 Sell-Button Outage, and Why It Matters

On August 28–29, 2025, Pump.fun pushed a breaking API change without warning trading bots, and Axiom users could not sell for several hours until the change was reverted around 4:20 PM New York time. Traders holding positions during the window had no way to exit through Axiom's interface. That outage wasn't really about Axiom's reliability. It was a reminder that Axiom is non-custodial, so your seed phrase works anywhere. Export it once at signup (Settings → Account & Security → Manage Wallets) and import it into Phantom, Rabby, or Solflare, so you can fall back to Pump.fun, Jupiter, or Raydium directly if Axiom's own interface goes down again.
